💃”Zorro”
📍Charing Cross Theatre
🎫£25
You know what I like the most in theatre? When you watch actors on the stage and you see them sincerely enjoying what they do and just having fun. “Zorro” delivers exactly that.
The whole ensemble is absolutely fantastic. From strong female voices (Luisa and Ines were outstanding) to choreographed to perfection spade fights. There’s flamenco, there are Spanish guitars, and even some real fire on stage (rarely seen treat, I think last time I saw real fire it was on “Prince of Egypt”).
Even the comedy factor that’s usually easy to turn to cringe, in this case was perfectly balanced: Garcia’s character is clumsy but never slapstick-clumsy.
I was smiling the whole time during the show. Big congratulations to the ensemble, who made the play truly unique. The participation of ensemble on such an equal level as main characters is so refreshing to see!

Summary: best play of the month for me. If you feel like you would like to treat yourself and see a play, and only one play this month, go for “Zorro” . It will make you forget about the world and just enjoy the ride.
